International Applicants
International applicants will be assessed for admission under the applicable admission category (see below). Applications from international (Study Permit) applicants living and applying from outside Canada will be considered for admission to the Fall Semester only (semester begins in September).
However, international applicants studying in the English as a Second Language or English for Academic Purposes programs at Mount Royal University or studying at another institution in Canada may be considered for admission to the Fall Semester or the Winter Semester.
When you apply for admission, final/official transcripts will be required for all high school and post-secondary coursework completed. If the original transcripts are not in English, you must also submit a certified translated copy from an approved translation service.
Although early application and submission of documents is recommended, all official high school and post-secondary transcripts must be received at Mount Royal by April 1 for offshore applicants to allow time to process your application for admission and for you to obtain a student visa.
Documentation to verify English Language Proficiency is also required for students whose first language is not English.
Admission Categories
High school applicants: This category is for students in their final year of high school or for applicants who are out of high school. You may also have completed a limited number of post-secondary courses and still be considered within this category.
Post-secondary applicants: If you have completed four or more post-secondary courses by Dec. 31 and will have completed at least eight post-secondary courses by June 30 then you will be considered under this category.
Mature Applicants: If the previous categories do not apply to you and you are at least 21 years old by Sept. 1 for Fall Semester or Jan. 1 for Winter Semester you may be considered as a Mature applicant.
Immigration into Canada
Admitted international students are solely responsible for all arrangements relating to their immigration status and entry into Canada
Program Costs
International applicants will need to plan in advance to ensure all program and living costs while studying are considered.
