Learning has no borders. To ensure the richest education possible, Mount Royal University has built an international education program that is widely regarded as leading edge. In fact, Mount Royal is the leading top post-secondary institution nationally for participation in the International Academic Mobility Program (IAM).
The program’s focus is to ensure Mount Royal students can have the opportunity to enrich their education and expand their understanding of the world.

A world of choices
- Institutional Partnerships: The International Education program is so active, more than 70 universities from five continents — Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and North America — have partnered with Mount Royal. That means students from those institutions can experience a Mount Royal education, and Mount Royal students can study at other universities.
- Faculty-led Study Tours: Students can participate in a variety of life-changing trips. Imagine being — be part of an important archaeological dig in Jordan, strolling the Champs-Elysees in Paris, or make a documentary film with students in Mexico.
- International Directed Field Studies (DFS): For Mount Royal programs that include a DFS work experience element, students have the option of staying at home or going global. What better way to prepare for the global marketplace?
- Incoming Exchange Students: Even if Mount Royal students don’t leave campus, they can still have an international experience. Spending time with visiting exchange students and faculty can give local students insight to global issues.
English Language Programs
Each year, the Languages Institute welcomes hundreds of students from all over the world for English Language Programs. We help you improve your language skills for work, travel, personal development or academic study and offer full-time, part-time and customized programs designed to meet your particular goals. Our English Language program has an international reputation for excellence and we guarantee consistently high standards in our curriculum, materials, personnel, and facilities.
